    Maintenance Primer

There are 3 parts of the e-cig that need to be cleaned and  maintained - the battery, the atomizer, and the charger.

These parts should be cleaned periodically depending on how often you use the e-cig.  Some people say that a once a week cleaning is good but you must ensure that you have enough supplies before cleaning, as you will not be able to use your items until they are dry. This might take a full 24 hours to be sure. A good rule of thumb is to stagger your cleaning. For example, one week you clean A, B and C on Monday. Then on Wednesday you can begin using A, B and C, and clean D, E and F.

The type of E-Liquid can severely alter your cleaning schedule.  The more viscous your liquid is (how thick) the more gunk will build up. Also the darker the liquid seemingly makes the wicks clog much faster and need much more frequent cleaning. Some people use only certain cartos/clearos/etc. for certain liquids. For example, an atomizing unit you know is super easy to clean or does not have wicks you might use for your thick, dark liquids. Many people will find each atomizing unit will make your liquids taste certain ways. For example, you might like your fruity flavors in one that burns cooler, and your coffees in one that burns hotter. Never expect the same flavor from different items, and they may also differ from battery to battery!

    Maintenance of the E-Cigarette Battery

The battery is a rechargeable, lithium ion battery that needs to be cleaned and cared for as any fine electronic device, in order to protect your investment.

To preserve the charging capacity of your e cig battery itself, charge it up COMPLETELY once you receive the battery. It will come to you about 80% charged, but you should continue charging it before your first use. Then,  it may be best to use the electronic cigarette until the battery is fully discharged. This will lengthen the number of charges your e-cig battery will take. Also, the first 3 times you charge it, you should keep it on the charger for a full 24 hours. This extends the longevity of each charge. Some say if cleaned and charged properly the battery will last for about 300 charges, although some think the number is much closer to 200. Most people seem to experience battery life of approximately 3- 6 months, although you may experience differently due to the resistance of your atomizers, your style of vaping, and many other factors.

    Basic weekly cleaning:
Take a cotton swab alcohol (not soaking) and clean the contact where you screw in the atomizer. This area gets a build up of dirt and nicotine residue. Make sure the battery threading is dry before using it again. If necessary, use a non-dusty type of towel (some paper towels break up into little pieces of linty dust) to dry off the threadings. You may need to clean more often if you do not follow the rule of removing your atomized unit before refilling with e-liquid.

The E-Cigarette Battery has a basic design flaw. There is a center post that is the part that is supposed to connect to your atomizer to supply the power. The center post can be depressed (pushed in, not in need of meds) by daily usage, tightening the batt onto the charger a half turn too much, screwing down a new atomizer a little too far, etc. It can even be delivered to your door straight from the factory floor like that. Many people expect that items such as this should be exactly the same every time they are purchased, and exactly perfect. This is mainly the case, but there are slight variations. The post is not connected to any kind of spring, which would make it pop back up, which would make sense, yes? But no, when this center post has been depressed, it may connect with some atomizers. It might not connect with others. This is extremely common. Most people have a heavy hand when it comes to tightening items. Of course you are used to tightening screws to hold on a door or cabinet to the wall, but these are simple items that need a delicate touch. If this seems to be the case that your unit is not supplying power to your atomizer, it might be the center post issue. In that case, one needs a small paperclip with a straightened end as your tool. One must ever so gently poke it under the post's top lip and try to raise it just a slight bit. Too much and the post becomes disengaged from the electrical wiring and is now completely unusable. But it is a good thing to try if your other option was that it powered none of your atomizers.

    The USB Adapter/Charger's Maintenance:

First, unplug your USB adapter/charger from either the wall, the car, or the computer. Use a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol (squeeze to get off excess first) to clean the contacts where you screw in the battery: the outer threading and inside threading, if there is both. As there are many styles of chargers, some protrude where others do not. Use common sense. . The life expectancy of the charger depends on how many times it is being used and if it is cleaned regularly. If the light on the charger does not turn red, and only stays green, when a dead battery is attached, you may need a new charger. Sometimes you may note that if you unscrew your battery ever so slightly after being fully charged but still showing red, the light will switch to green. Then other chargers will decide to have the light turn orange. These chargers are best made for recycling. Oftentimes one gets many chargers so if you have been vaping longer than a month or two you probably have quite the collection.

Some batteries will glow on the end while charging. Others may glow when charged. And you might have to simply rely on a little red or green light on the USB part of the charger as the indication as to whether or not the batt has been fully charged. But one thing in very clear. You should always screw your battery gently into the USB adapter first. That way you have full control of the threading and don't have to be in some odd position. Then plug your USB adapter into the wall charger, computer, car adapter, etc. If your battery is not perpendicular to the table, it means the only support for the battery is the part in which the battery is connected to the charger. You do not want to weaken the threaded area of either the battery or the charger, so either charge vertically or help prop with a non electrical item such as a zippered e cig case.

We thoroughly encourage people to use power strips with the surge protection. You should always use the charger that came with your batt, or the same style of charger (read the fine print on the back.) A good thing to do is immediately label your chargers with some painter's tape (easy to peel off) and a Sharpie (it won't smear.) Then you know your 808 goes into that charger, and your 510 goes with that one, and your automatic battery is with this one, etc. Switching around the chargers you use does nothing to help a battery's life. It can even cause harm, so just keep them organized.

Someone who has committed to a lifetime of vaping and never wants to accidentally have to go back to smoking always has a large supply of batteries, atomizers, chargers, and liquid. The hardware is an investment in your health, and it will last much longer and give you the best performance with a little TLC.

I received the spiral engraved batt as a Mum's Day gift and I love it! It is über sleek and a conversation piece. I am looking forward to ordering another quality batt soon.

    Beautiful & Functional!

I bought this to take with me to a very high end wedding weekend in Manhattan. I was a bit on the fence ordering, wondering whether it would look elegant and work nicely. What a surprise when it arrived, it looked very high quality and works extremely well. Holds a charge and the 1100 mahs gives big clouds of vapor. I will definitely try more of these wonderful "feminine" looking batteries. Tired of those things that look like some kind of weapon or flashlight. Not very girly. Quick shipping too.

    engraved steel

I have purchased a few egos. The engraved steel ones have lasted the longest. One of my first who batteries and have out lasted the rest. Recently, I purchased my second one after my months of trial and error with a variety of batteries. My second one is the Dragon style. A beautiful piece of work. I have not encountered any problems, no complaint.

Love this one. Cute, long lasting & strong. I can go 2 days w/out a recharge!!
